Installing FiM Kiosk

This will be a step by step guide for a fresh Kiosk install (client, server, kiosk) and for a simple kiosk install/upgrade (kiosk).

Kiosk Fresh Install (Server, Client, Kiosk)

  1. Go to \\km-ftp\FTP\Download\FormsinMotion\Install and retrieve client, server, and kiosk installers.

  2. Install and configure FiM Server and Client on host server (reference FiM install documentation for more information)

    1. Note: FiM must be set up to run on AD for Kiosk to Authenticate

  3. Once Client and Server are up and running move to the Kiosk Environment and run the Kiosk Installer.

  4. When the install finishes, go to the installed directory (default is C:\Program Files(x86)\KeyMark, Inc\Forms inMotion Kiosk) and open the Kiosk.config.

  5. Now configure <kioskConfiguration> making sure to set

    1. “autoLaunchForm” - sets which form will be auto launched based on form number (which can only be found by looking in the database)

    2. “serviceLocation” - is the location of Kiosk Back end (i.e. "https://fimprod01.formsinmotion.com/FIMServer_Kiosk/FormsServiceJSON.asmx” and is generally found in serverlocation.js)

    3. “userName” - the AD username that will be used for authentication into FiM

  6. [OPTIONAL] Create a desktop shortcut to Kiosk.exe and change the icon. You may need to create the shortcut for the user that will be logged in when the kiosk is being used in production (ex. WAKE\DDSKiosk)

Kiosk Simple Upgrade/Install (Kiosk)

  1. Go to \\km-ftp\FTP\Download\FormsinMotion\Install and retrieve kiosk installer.

  2. Move to Kiosk Environment and take a copy of Kiosk.config, index.html, and optionally a logos directory.

  3. After making copies run the installer. If FIM kiosk is already installed on the machine, then it will prompt you asking if you want to remove those. Click "yes".

  4. Once finished move copied files back into the install directory. It will prompt you to replace the config file, click replace. FiM Kiosk is now completely finished installing.

  5. [OPTIONAL] Create a desktop shortcut to Kiosk.exe and change the icon. You may need to create the shortcut for the user that will be logged in when the kiosk is being used in production (ex. WAKE\DDSKiosk)
